If I could recommend any back-to-back travel, may I suggest Hawaii to New York? The juxtaposition is so great: Colors indicative of 75 degree weather, the ocean song lullaby and limited neighbors contrasted with the hustle, bustle and glorious mayhem in Manhattan on New Year’s weekend. My mind was still in Oahu when I stepped out of Penn Station and someone spit on my shoe. I do love the city! It made me smile because it meant I was in New York and that it had been too long since I last visited. I spent the weekend making friends at a few dog runs and I was in absolute heaven! I couldn’t have asked for a better way to ring in the new year.
Thanks to all the wonderful people and dogs I met in Manhattan: It was a great pleasure to be a part of doggie play time!

Good afternoon. I stumbled across your website and I wanted to tell you how wonderful these pictures are! Of course, there’s no such thing as an ugly dog, so I would love any dog picture, but I am struck by the personality you capture in these photos.
I was wondering, do you know the breed of the dog in picture 0188.jpg on the I Heart New York Dogs! page? That dog looks very much like my little babies who I adopted from the pound. Just curious.
And again, these photos are fantastic!
Thank you sooo much for the wonderful comment! I don’t know the breed of that cute little button wearing the sweater- ha ha-but I my very best guess would be a Basenji. She was a sweet heart too and very independent!
